I found my long disused airgun in the cellar the other day. Its a crosman 2250b with a 4x40 scope and silencer. It was given to me in barely working condition years ago, and Ive pretty much ignored it until now. I used to target shoot in fields with family many years ago, but havent done anything in years.

I now feel like taking back up a bit of shooting, maybe progressing on to rabbiting etc, I managed to service the old gun, (leaking co2 bottle seal, missing safety spring and ball, loose silencer etc etc). Im now happy enough with its performance, and am thinking about using it "as is" for some use on a target range, if I can achieve a reasonable degree of accuracy there I may well buy a more suited rifle to go rabbiting. Currently thinking about a Hatsan AT-44 mainly on the grounds that from what Ive read they have a decent barrel, decent power, 10 shot capacity (so quicker to get a second shot in if I get a stray shot that doesnt kill instantly) all at a reasonable price. Of course all that may change with a bit of experience...

I have a few friends who either used to shoot, currently shoot using live rifles etc or who have friends who shoot with air rifles. I dont think getting permissions etc for shooting on land will be an issue, but I really dont think either the current gun or my current aim are up to live quarry at the moment.

Just joining up here to take a look around and hopefully pick up some pointers maybe even find out about clubs \ ranges here in South Devon so I can get practising. The cellar doesnt have the size to provide a decent target practise. The garden isnt big enough either to provide a challenge, and I really dont want to scare any neighbours...
