fitchet 788 Posted July 28, 2012 Report Share Posted July 28, 2012 is it me or are there much less barbel about this year ? i live 5 mins away from the river kennet and ive had one 8lb barbel and a couple of chub best one bieng dead on 5lb> but im seeing alot less this year and friends have only had the odd one> anybody in other areas seeing less barbel ? jonah. 775 Posted July 29, 2012 Report Share Posted July 29, 2012 might have something to do with all the extra water running through the last few weeks i fish the Severn regularly through the season (going tomorrow for a few days), the river has been unfishable for the most part this season. the fish have been showing but just not in great numbers, i've heard of a hand full of doubles but mostly around the 7lb mark. had a 14lb common 2 weeks ago from just under bridgnorth....hadn't heard of them that far up before, went like the clappers with a flooded river behind it.
