Fishing in newark ,lincoln ,horncastle or there abouts

anyone fish in these areas ? will be bikeing from nottingham to skeggy on the 1st 2nd ,3rd 4th september and would like to spend one days fishing on our way.Preferabley river fishing

scrapyard stretch in newark is good for a try. plenty of barbel to be had chub up near the weir or try trotting a stick float a bit further down the stretch.

Plenty of chub in the River Bain that runs through the centre of Horncastle.

If i were down that way i,d give the upper Witham a try, it runs very close to your route, buster.

Cheers guys ... will be heading for these rivers for some fishing , will be taking the telescopics anyway.Any other decent spots round these areas for fishing.

i have just found a route which i hope will be alot safer or atleast less busy .. nottingham to granthem ,then sleaford ,next its conningsby then to skegness , ... anyone fancy meeting in september for some foraging in these areas ...

it can be good fishing from the point,on the backwater not bad either
