Guest born to run1083
Hi all last week had a call out by a farmer who got our number through a neighbouring farm who wanted a few cleared, I don't like doing this especially this time of year unless bring a pup forward, but pest control is what it is so we decided to go down the terrier route to flush them out into the long net. As tbh we couldn't be arsed with the hassle of digging to ferrets as that's common this time of year and this place isn't easy with cover. I took my collie grey Missy and we had two of my mates terriers and a terrier x the beddy whip. My mates dogs had be use to using a long net but to my bitch it was her first go. The day went quite well knocking rabbits out left right and center and my bitch was nailing them one after the other it's was a good day in all with the dogs and long net we got 18 which I thought wasn't bad for 2 and half hours. Was really happy with my bitch with the long net she was nice and steady and took it in her stride. loads of catches to put the fir back in her mouth so to speak which was one of the main reasons I took her. Kevs bed/whip didn't disappoint and flushed alot of stuff even in the tightest of bramble. I recon if we continued we could easily hit the 50 Mark but the farmer who was with us was very happy and happy with our work so showed us the boundaries of the new permission with have now acquired so overal a good few hours and new permission acquired that seems to be stocked to the brim. Pic will come when kev can be arsed to send them lol Quote Link to post

Her rate of learning is what you'd expect of a high saturated collie Lurcher. It's nice tho to have those brains but also alot of drive so she doesn't pick runs or stalk that some suffer with. Chalky aye a nice pint would of topped the day I much enjoyed the fact altho we were working the dogs it was nice an relaxed if that makes sense. Just a mooch with a net can be very productive.
