out again

Recommended Posts

well with the wife and kids out for the evening i decided to take the hw100 out

gets to the permission and just as i'm pulling up there's a lad with a rifle walking in the middle of the field

has a chat with him and he was on with a bloke who does the pidgeon shooting,

he said there's nothing about, surprise, surprise

so knowing he'd put everything to ground i went over to the cricket ground,

the gates were open when i got there so went to the club house and one of the blokes was just

locking up ready to leave, so with him gone i was free to carry on

i got myself under a tree facing the log piles which holds rabbits as its so overgrown

did'nt have to wait long before a pair of ears appeared in the nettles, another couple of minutes and out he hopped

to be met by a .22 h&n, straight on his back with his legs in the air no1 in the bag

had to wait about 20 mins for the next one to appear this was at the other end of the log pile

i had to move slighty for this one and he must of heard the twigs and leaves move

cause he got up on his back legs having a look so took the shot and it was no2 taken care of

picked them up and moved to the score board, i was here about an hour before anyhing showed

i took the 3rd rabbit at 15yds and almost at the same time 1 came out at 45yds, so 2 dots over and the 4th did a back flip

i left them where they were as the light was fading so always chance of some more, i spotted a rabbit coming down the fence line

it must of been 90 yds away and still coming when 1 shows itself at 25yds so takes number 5 at 25yds

hopefully no6 is still coming into range, and he is, he stopped to sniff at no4 at 45 yds so 2 mil dots and its lights out

the light was realy fading by now so called it a day with 6 big rabbits,

i'm really impressed with the h&n ftt's they seem to hit realy hard and are accurate at range

cheers albert
