doxhope 2
There are a few lads on here with canons matie should get some useful info what they are using, but get some fast glass till you master the camera..The lense I use on a Nikon mount is classed as slow, but I still manage to get some decent action shots, so its not just the case of going out and buying a lense and automatically getting good quality pics.... as above. what lense would you buy for rangy wildlife shots etc say up to 5/6hundred quid [to be used on a canon 400d] thanks

doxhope 2
Seen loads of write ups by people with this legend of a lense, no one has ever slated it.. Have a look at some pics on this link, remarkable http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/forums/g...s-any-good.html Takes a bit time for the site to laods up.. At around £650-£700, sigma 50-500/...... thats the daddy i bet
Dawn B 212
Its alright having that lens if you have a wheel barrow to cart it round with! My boss has got it, yes its a good one, but you have to use a tripod because of its size, and its quite unstable at longer zoom lengths (helped by tripod) Sigma dont to image stabilizers and if they did it would add another £150 or so to the price.
