JonathanKent 16
Afternoon all, I am in the market for a .22 semi auto for a bit of fun taking to the range and probably the occasional lamping foray as a change to my HW60. I have been looking at the Sig 522 but frankly I have been put off by the price! I used to have a Ruger 10/22 and I'm not interested in getting another as I didn't get on with it. I am now considering a Browning Buckmark Rifle: http://browning.eu/p...&submod=A-BMSPR Does anyone have/had one, is it reliable? What’s the accuracy like? Would you buy/recommend one? There was a review in Shooting Times a while ago but I would really like some first hand opinion. ATB Jonno Edited July 18, 2012 by JonathanKent Quote Link to post
markha 99
Jonno, http://www.hk22rimfire.com/ Cheaper than Sig and better made, tried one and would buy oif it was my cup of tea, S&W is nowhere near as good, build wise, very plastic. H&K all the way. Quote Link to post
danw 1,748
I bought a buckmark about 3 months ago for my kids had the barrel cut to 12" it,s never jammed with eley subs, it never gets cleaned and they have run over 3000 rounds through it, at 50 yards they can get a 10 shot 50pence size group, down sides are you have to take off the scope to strip and clean not that I ever do though . Its, perfect for carrying round my pens it weighs next to nothing and cause of the cut barrel its tiny all up for the money I reckon its no a bad little gun Quote Link to post
JonathanKent 16
Thanks guys, Dan, I didn't realise you had to drop off the scope to clean it, thats a bit of a downside. I have spoken to my local gun shop and they have a couple in stock so I'm going to go and have a look but to be honest if I have to take the scope off to clean it (and being a .22 semi I will have to clean it at some point!) then I may look elsewhere Markha thanks for the tip I may have a look at those, I'm stilll not sure if the whole black gun tactical thing is for me though! courser 73
I bought one for my wife due to it's weight and size. She shoots 1/4 inch groups with it and loves the rifle. I had thought I would have to remove the front sight so we could have it screw cut, but if you loosen to screw you can turn thr front sight round 180 degrees and this gives you enough for 1/2 inch screw cut. It's a great little rifle and well made.. Quote Link to post
