Carraghs Gem 1,699
You need to build up a bond with him and earn his respect, after all why should he do what you tell him? In his eyes your not his master.... Yet! It can take a while, he'll come round eventually 1 Quote Link to post

Casso 1,261
your instructions need to be able to stimulate him , stubborn is just a term for words or commands that dont mean anything to the dog , a dog dont suddenly decide to disobey its owner , how come it always responds as a pup , 1 is that its completely open to its owner , its owner is its avenue to food and eating is what its programmed to do, there are no other real distractions in its life, therefore it always responds but is it trained,no 2 is that its drive hasn't kicked in, so its not pulled in different directions , drive is a drive to make contact to mouth something, if we dont work with this law of nature the fact that a dog is motivated by this action more than anything else problems arise, the more we shout and bollic a dog the more threatening we become( and the dog begins to tune us out) and the more inviting prey gets, even though he may never get the bunny , it is still a better way of using is drive energy,by running round a field on his own because we are too predator like for the dog to respond to us, which is why when we become more prey like by crouching down he will respond, you need to develop drive in the dog responding to your commands, ball play, tug items all stimulate drive if worked on, take him out HUNGRY everytime, and play to stimulate drive , make him respond to his name to get what he wants in time , wont happen overnight , will need working on, best of luck, 1 Quote Link to post
