Guest Ditch_Shitter
Love that trellis, Moll! Frank says it wasn't a bank holiday here? Blowed if I'd have known anyway. Barely know ~ much less care ~ what day it is half the time. Me? Worked like a brother of african origin! Just ate my dinner and now my arms are so tired typing this is taking an effort. As far as I remember though; I've scraped the cow shed windows - having reglazed and painted them some time since. I built another door, glossed it up nice and black, and hung that this morning. I've been working on the next hole in the wall, where I've ripped out the old door and frame. Pains taking business that is, rebuilding the wall sides. Being stone built and with bad sand and lime, I now have to use proper portland and hand place all sorts of sizes of stones back in. Secret is to get so many stones in there that, when ye drill for the frame, ye bite into some solid stone. Hit a bit of cement pointing and ye won't get a solid fix. Did some more general pointing around the inside of the shed. Did a small spot of rendering, just to lose some left over cement. Drill brushed off my big, front gate. Repainted that entirely. Painted two smaller gates I have here. Drill brushed the scaffold poles I have set beside each ot those two, ready for painting. Cut both those poles down to size. Paint those next. Then I'll go up and paint both my top gates. Paint the back gate too. Buy more paint! Blew a load of old render off inside the cow shed. Need to get in a Ton of sand and then I can get hold of some trestles and set to work on blowing All the old render off, inside, and re render a couple of the walls in there. Then it's outside to blow the top half off. But that I'll repoint, accentuating the natural stone of the building Oh, and I need to source some rolled lead. I want to fix a proper flashing to the top of the little 'stock shed. Had a mouch down the bog. Am considering setting a snare down there where I found positive signs of the enemy passing. Caught up with Pat, who's busy mowing the bog ~ thus leaving me with 200 yard ranges of open, clean, see anything that moves out there shooting! Bless him! Went lethal in my resident rat boxes. Found my wrens eggs have hatched. Watched Small Dog work like a brother of african origin, definately and heart warmingly after something in my ruin. Great to see her 'waking up' a bit now Failed to find time to stake out and get a shot of my Spotted Flycatchers ~ I will though. Oh, and salvaged a load of wood, now nicely dried out, from the collapsed Dutch Barn. Bow sawed that into storable lengths and stowed it away in my wood store. And yes; I am now completely f*cked! But my Pest Control News arrived today, so I shall sit here ~ might even lie down! ~ and quietly enjoy a good read of that.
jultaylor1972 2
Ive been on nights since fri night but still managed to get my dogs out for long nice walks. I found a great spot near where I live where there are loads of rabbits One of my dogs saw a rabbit on sat morning and made chase - actually catching up with it but then jumped on it and licked it all over She got a few kicks for her efforts and the rabbit got away but it was quite funny to say the least. My other dog went and set about the horses in a nearby field Lucky for her they just looked at her and walked off. So, it looks like some serious training lies ahead for my dogs On the plus side though my dog marks some rabbit holes and ignores others so when I get some permission she'll be a good team member to have The weather was a bit crapy as usual but it did the garden good. Oh, I bought myself a BSA Lightening XL from a tax rebate I wasnt expecting So all in all I had quite a good weekend considering I was at work :thumbs-up:

Guest Ditch_Shitter
Is that all Ditchy Seriously though isn't pottering about just the best thing in the world? " Pottering A F*cking Bout " ?! Good god, woman! I've slogged my guts out! So shattered last night I fell asleep in this chair. Woke up today, after about five hours, and went straight back to it again. Did another ten hours with barely a pause for a skin up. And ye call That 'Pottering about'? No. I potter about in between the winter rat and mouse sessions and the 'summer'. Now that the rains are holding off? All go. More than I have time or can afford to get done in one 'summer', so I just steam at it and do as much as is humanly possible, while I'm able. I'll be racing to get this cow shed sorted now. Need to have it all tickedy boo for hay making. Then I'll have my field cut and be packing the place out with hay ..... God; And then it'll be winter again. Rain. Jesus. Haven't even seen the first days of summer yet and I'm already looking at the rains and the cold nights. Madness; I spend the warmer weather preparing for the cold weather. Cold weather looking foreward to the warm. Then work my arse off so hard I barely notice summer passing! Would I have it any other way? Would I f*ck!
