So i'm thinking about getting a BSA Ultra to replace my HW90k that i've lost

what they like shooting wise?

how much should i be looking to pay for a s/h one and can you convert it to Multishot at a later date? if so how much it it?

Or is their any other pcp you would advice me getting..now i'm only wanting something second hand and cheap as the amount of times i'l use it it (10-20 a year max ) so not worth spending loads of £££

cheers

You can convert them to a Multishot, Rowan Engineering do a clip on magazine now! Why not look for an S200? Has all the benefits of the Ultra, small, compact, lightweight, but without that ridiculous darned cocking system!

Edited to add that the S200 can be converted to multishot by using Air Arms components if it has not already been done and unlike the Rowan ones for the Ultra they index as well!

Mole each to their own, I actually like the cocking system on the ultra and would have one over the s200 any day. It's a marmite mechanism. I would urge anyone looking to buy one to not be put off by comments and go and try one. There's something very special about the ultra. If I bought another pcp I would get an ultra.

Si's ultra is well.... ULTRA! its a fantastic rifle and shoots as well as any £1000+ rifle on the market. I think he was using RWS Superfield in his and it seems to like them alot.

best thing to do is try them out for yourself but go with an open mind

Crosman Premier Ultra magnums worked well in mine, I had it leaded up and sighted in and first kill made in 20 minutes, three weeks alter it was back in the gun shop.... Not with a fault, I traded it in!

What do you like? Air Arms S200, BSA Ultra, Super 10, R10, hell you could get lucky and pick up an HW100! Last year for £275 we picked up a Daystate X2, Air cylinder, Hawke AO IR Map scope, gun bag, pellets and bipod! Only got rid of that because we found Mini Me...

Shop around, do not only look on the gun sites, local free ads, free ad web sites, google what you are looking for, might be you have to join a falconry forum, we did that to pick up a BSA Super 10 and hand pump, then the other half decided she did not like it, only paid £250 for that combo, that was for a realtree dipped one as well!
