Brian-911 210
The pup now 6 half months has started chasing the bunnies where we normally walk, it's riddled with them. Thing is she never gets close as there even straight in the hedge or under the fence but she still gives it ago. Thing is I'm thinking maybe I'm gonna have to start taking her somewhere else as she might lose interest in them in the end as she can never catch one ? Quote Link to post

derbylad1 293
Definitly dont take her there anymore mate. It'll seriously sicken her, depending on her breeding she might even give up chasing them very soon. Fir example if she has collie in her, they tend to think too much and will come to the thinking, "i can't catch rabbits". especially if she cant at all. Get her to places where she wont see any and wait til shes physically and mentally ready to catch...then have your fun. Quote Link to post
BEARINATOR 2,924
At least she is showing a interest mate, she won't lose interest but she will start to learn there escape routes and start trying to block them off Quote Link to post
chartpolski 28,511
She could get frustrated and end up yapping, if she chases but doesn't catch at a young age. Cheers. Quote Link to post
Brian-911 210
Yeah well I'm happy she's keen as mustard, so I'm just gonna keep her away from anywhere with the rabbits now until she's ready. cheers all Quote Link to post
derbylad1 293
Good man. you got to realise that she is only a puppy and in theory she is already trying to hunt. Let her be what she really is....a puppy, and all the best with her mate. what breeding is she? Quote Link to post

Turning into a real good dog. Never had anywhere near the amount of rabbits there are this year before. Theres shed loads ! Quote Link to post
