WhippetLad 26
I got a kit about a week ago, and by looking on here, it seemed to have a calcium deficiency. so i decided to put up the symptoms of my ferret and what i did, so hopefully this will help folk out. the 1st sign i had was the wee kit was breathing really heavy, we short sharp breaths, couldnt really lift its neck to drink or eat, and its back legs were basically not moving. 1st of all i rushed out to try and get goats milk (turned out to be pretty hard to get) so ended up getting soya milk. the 1st few days i had to hold the kit over the milk so it could lick it up. I also fed it raw chicken wings, but again, i cut it up into 1-2cm bits and hand fed it. after about 4 days, the wee kit has came to life playing with my other kit, being able to drink milk from the bowl its self, and is walking way better. I know i have only got ferrets, and there will be people that will probaly slag me off about that. however this seemed to help my kit, and hopefully another ferreter will get some help from this.
