dogs-n-natives 1,182
Hi I need to replace my CV joint boot, nissan terrano... had a go myself but got stuck with some awkward locking nuts on the tracking rod end ball joint... I reckon if i got it off i could have pulled drive shaft out the back of the hub without taking apart the other ball joints... Im in Lincolnshire now, but heading down towards Dover... crossing to Calais in the next couple of days. Any help would be fecking great... All the best DnN

All the best DnN Hello mate my sons shit hot with Japanese cars he,s round at the moment so i just threw your question at him.......he reckons,if you unbolt the inner joint first and turn the steering as far one way as possible theres just enough clearance to remove the shaft from the hub without removing the ball joints............ He might be wrong i dont know but to give him his due he does know his stuff....leave a number if you like and i,ll get him to talk you through it.....best of luck. wilbur foxhound 480
if you cant get the nut of the ball joint put a bottle jack underneath it and jack it up a littleyou should then be able to loosen the ball joint nut, then get a bar to put pressure to lever the ball joint off,if it dont come off then hit the part which collars the ball joint but not the threaded part atb wf
