benefits of fac air rifle

hi what are the benefits of a fac air rifle , it would be mainly used for rabbits magpie and pigeons , cheers

Flatter tragectory over long distances, plus I think the extra speed the pellets has over the longer distances would make the pellet more stable therefore more accurate aswel over the longer distances

More power more distance on your shots, that is if you can hit what your shooting at, to be honest with practice you could get the same results with a sub12. If your looking at taking rabbits at long range and you have an FAC, you might aswel buy a proper rifle.

Advantages? Of a 20 or 30 ft.lb air rifle over a sub 12?

 

They're more expensive, you need an FAC and give you maybe five or ten more feet of range.

 

So really, advantages are small and few and disadvantages are numerous.

 

If you're going for an FAC, then get a .22LR. It's silent, but carries a lot more power and range. Also a decent .22LR rifle can be had for £200, whereas a good FAC air rifle will set you back £500 or £600.

big advantage of fac air if using a pump is you get a lot fitter and end up with shoulders like a gorilla, better off finding what a sub 12 gun will actually do when used properly

Haha at that price neither would I but I was just giving him the numbers just like firing ten pence out the barrel suppose ten p for a rabbit isn't to bad tho

ive got one, i can lower the power to 12flbs or increase to 40ftbs theres one thing you carnt do with a non fac air rifle (legally) :laugh:

Yeah i can see where your coming from - If it isnt then that answers the question straight away will have to be a sub 12

Personally I dont think I'd bother in fac air , or a rifle for bunnies..just stalk into it ..best part about shooting ..although if I had permission to shoot deer and fox...welll that's a diffrent story lol
