what kind of things should be put in a cover letter for a job? Never done one before.

Never had to do a cover letter before being a sub contracter you daft twat. :laugh:

Keep cover letters brief and to the point, whilst including all relevant information......dont start waffling or your letter will get put in the def NO or maybe pile when employers are sifting through the applications. As you can imagine the employers have a lot of applications to look through, so those that keep their attention are more likely to get chosen for the yes pile.

Include any qualifications and/or experience you have for the position applied for. But also include a little about why you are a good person for any employer to have, stuff like....

 

Well mannered, willing and eager to learn, flexible...shift work not a problem, smart clean appearance, work well as part of a team as well as alone, confident, etc etc etc

Cover Letters should accompany a cv, not relplace it. It should be short and to the point... " Dear Sir, I wish to apply for the job as .............., as advertised in/on, etc. Please find enclosed/attatched my C.V. Regards
