Yeah I know what you mean fellas. I am really interested in the intracacies of how heavy dogs were worked as once this knowledge is gone I think it will be lost for good, when I was talking about getting further involved I was talking about dog work in general and the fact that if you dont have friends in the circle it is almost impossible to gain any new experiences and skills let alone any historical knowledge of days gone by. Sorry if it comes across a bit jumbled, I am facinated by how country folk spend their time both now and in the past as I never experienced it myself growing up and only discovered the whole scene myself a year or two ago. Hope that explains why I am interested, by comparrison my other love are motorcycles but that information is easy to get hold of and is freely available. Even though I like the modern bikes I still love the vintage bikes too even though they are no longer in use for sport and are obsolete. This is the sort of negativity I am talking about regarding the dog world, even if I was dodgy what could I gain by asking for a fellows opinions and views and what would I do with the information, it is purely to satisfy my own curiosity and appetite to learn. I am not looking for arguments or looking for a slanging match, this site has enough of that already so please dont take the thread of track, if it is not relevant , constructive or useful then please dont comment. There are some really nice fellas on here who I have dealt with who are happy to share a few things one of you even came to my house to help me out with my lurcher and to those guys Thanks.

please, carefully read my previous post. Do you really only have seven posts and are commenting on me. Why not read my previous posts dating back from last year, certainly nothing to hide apart from inexperience and a bit of naievity at worst.

Then why not share some of your knowledge and experience, I would gratefully listen to your opinions as you must have forgotten more than I ever have a chance of learning. I would love to have a tenth of what you know. I am just a regular 9-5 mortgage paying family man looking to try out new things that I am interested in why I still have the chance, you must have been green once, no hard feelings pal.
