Antony Sargerson 0
Hiya< i just joined today i came across the site by accident whilst looking for a slip lead, im 29 and from rhyl north wales im about to get a 6 month old lurcher shes about 22 inches on the shoulders but a little skinny, I've had a quote for tripe mince at £12 for 25lb is that a good food to start her on, she hasn't had a good diet where she is and rarely taken for a walk ive taken her out 4 times now and got her over a couple fears and let her off her lead on the beach which i believe was the first time for her. i will be taking her hunting but want her at full strength and on the right diet meats, bones etc. also i don't get her for another two weeks and we are expecting a baby in 8 weeks and want her to live in the house with us, is this wise, she currently lives with 2 other dogs, a tiny little annoying ball of lightning and bid old dog. she is very content where she is but deserves more she is obedient but hasn't been taught much at all as she is living in a small house and knows only what i have shown her on my walks with her. please may somebody give me some advice as i don't want to make a mistake. StevoSmith 147
Hi mate im from bodelwyddan.....welcome to THL......on subject of your dog i would get her weight built up and few more classes for her recall and so on......As with raw feeding this is fine mate...i used to raw feed my dogs with Raw Chicken wings, tripe, beef chunks, little bit of liver each week.necks from either ducks or turkeys and cod liver oil in with food....raw feeding is great for dogs it just has to be done correctly.....i wish you all the best with your new dog.....Regaurding about her living indoors i would say just be careful with new baby on way......the dog will most likely be fine but i would never leave a dog alone with any child no matter how much you know the dog......Do you have kennels?....or large garden? StevoSmith 147
If you give me your dogs weight i can work out an ideal raw feeding menu for you...........also its good that you have a large garden....the pet store near me does tripe and beef chunks for raw feeding and you can buy rest off butcher or supermarket...cod liver oil you can get anywhere...the farm shop is just down road from me and i know the owner and im sure if i have chat with him when he gets back off holiday i can get you a good deal for chickens and liver
