Guest CharlieC
Some of you might remember the albino hare that was posted in EDRD a few years back? It was pure white with red eyes just like an albino ferret and was killed by a lad I know who lives locally. Well, hes only gone and done it again! Saw him yesterday and he has a couple pics of it on his camera phone, I will need to get it sussed out how to email the pics to me so I can post them on here (you can do that cant you? ) This hare is quite eerie looking compared with the other one as its a light fawny colour with amber eyes, I will try and get pics up to compare the two if anyones interested. Anyone else seen an albino brown hare? Quote Link to post
doxhope 2
When I was doing mole control a few years back, a farmer ensured me there was an albino hare, although I never saw it myself the landowner always got very enthusiastic about it, but apart from this, Ive never seen one myself. gnipper 6,874
Ive never seen a white one but there was one round here last year with a really white belly that came up its sides. Looked weird compared to normal ones. gnipper Quote Link to post
Kye 77
I was out shooting with my airgun, maybe eight years ago...it was on a farm my dad was Herdsmen on, in Berkley, Glos... Just as i climed over a fence, i saw a white hare run into the same field from another gate way about thirty yards up the hedge line...I always thought it could of been a Blue Hare on holiday or summat, but i dont think theres any in that area!?...i have never seen a Blue hare, being a "Southern Puff"..lol..so i can only assume that it was a white hare?.. Guest Doug
Cream/fawn with normal coloured eyes is called leucistic. There's a place I know has quite a few. Seen a leucistic badger a couple of years ago. Shame the lad killed the hare. Quote Link to post
