mickyatch 37 Posted April 16, 2012 Report Share Posted April 16, 2012 ive got a pest contol job to carry out this afternoon on corvids in a large back garden just on your thourghts which of the two following rifles would you take along with you a falcon fn19 in .22 calbire sub 12ft lbs or a air arms s200 in .177 calbire also sub 12ft lb i know the air arms is quieter but the falcon gives a cleaner kill Quote Link to post

Lewis Ste 245 Posted April 16, 2012 Report Share Posted April 16, 2012 If your from a fixed hunting position and know all your ranges then the simple answer is the .22 because there is more energy on impact but the down sides are the holdover at the different heights and can be tricky to master. So if your not very familiar with your scope and rifle take the .177 because there is less gravitational affect that takes place in the lighter pellet so there is less drop and only need little holdover so more margin for error if you dont get the holdover right.
