Our Game Fairs are not just about Terriers, Lurchers and Whippets!

 

Yes , we have good showing and racing planned for Sunday 6th May NOTE EARLIER STARTING TIME of 11.00am and main arena displays on the Saturday but the fair has also many other attractions for the whole family.

 

Apart from there being more stands of all varieties, we have further improved the layout.

 

Courtyard

I have just had the final list of exhibitors in for the Flavour magazine Fine Food Festival which will be staged in the Courtyard at the Ballywalter Game fair on the 5th & 6th May. All I can say is it looks fantastically 'flavoursome' ! We have additional fine food stands on the main site so 'foodies' will be spoilt for choice with one of the largest arrays of fine food available at any game fair and instead of one cookery demo - we have two - one by the Ulster Pork & Bacon Forum in the courtyard and the other by our Go for Game chef Emmett Mc Court in the Angling Pavilion. The yard will also feature art and crafts, an existing display of taxidermy by James Sheals the Victorian taxidermist and a superb display of rabbits, guinea pigs and rare breeds of fowl which will keep the kids amused while the mums and dads enjoy persusing the fine foods.

 

House & Lawns

 

will host displays of vintage cars & carriages, falconry exhibits, fly casting competitions and tuition,game displays and a Napoleonic Military Encampment.

 

Where are the guns and the Irish Countrysports and Country Life magazine stand? This year moved from the courtyard to the entrance to the house beside the row of clothing stands . The Gunmakers Row extends to 1800 square feet and is one of the most varied you will see at any Irish Game Fair . It is supported by another 400 sq feet of vintage arms displays and quite uniquely a punt gunning demonstration on the lake. The clothing row has also been extended.

 

The Irish Countrysport and Country Life magazine heads up our 'Year of the Salmon Angling Pavilion' and this is an area not to be missed not least for some mouth watering cookery displays of both game & fish cookery by Emmet Mc Court.

 

Past & present and Fine Food, Craft & Tourism Pavilions plus a whole host of other stands and masses of things for kids to see & do make this one of the largest and best fairs ever organised at Ballywalter.
