cmuzzy 6 Posted March 28, 2012 Report Share Posted March 28, 2012 (edited) Hi lads and gals new to this section on THL so be gentle haha , just a quick post , been looking into getting a dog as ive got plenty of spare time with work commitments been freed up for a while and a nice bit of permission which cant always be covered with ferrets/rifles.... just wondered if anyone got any suggestions as to which way to go as ive thought saluki x or something with whippet in ,sorta confusing me a litte bit, so just looking for something that will take coneys etc any advice/info as to any well bred pups coming up or that are available soon would be greatly appreiated cheers .... I,ve done a lot of rabbitting with ferrets and rifles/shotguns but never worked a running dog.Well after a visit to a good friend who had just got himself a whippet I,ve gone and put my name down for a pup from a litter thats being planned for this summer! I,ve had dogs 30 years but they were terriers and gundogs so any advice regarding any aspect of training a whippet for work would be gratefully recieved. Chris what sort of ground are you going to be running and are the feilds big or small theres so many different factors to be taking in to account for just rabbits i would be looking at a whippet cross or a small type lurcher atb with your choice mate and take your time Quote Link to post
