Ideation 8,217 Posted March 28, 2012 Report Share Posted March 28, 2012 Decided to have a knock about the shoot today with a lad off here, to have a look to see if there were any rats around the pens, and to check a few things for winter, and generally have a drive about in the sun, pretending we were doing some kind of work. Met him about 7am, gave the dogs a quick empty out and run about and jumped in his landy, with finn and his two pats in the back. We had a good day driving about, chatting shit, and looking at holes in the ground of varying sizes, and not really finding any rats, at least none that had any hair on them yet, and everything that we killed ended up as terrier food. Once the sun came up, it was a scorcher, so for the sake of the dogs, we needed to find them some kind of shelter, luckily there was the perfect thing, in the shape of a bench out side a local pub. After the dogs and we were suitably refreshed, we went back to driving about, and having a walk around some parts of the estate. The dogs got hot again, so we took them for a swim in one of the ponds. A long the way i shot a couple of tree rats, and managed to secure a piece of land to rear some pigs on. Honestly I'm snapped, the slaughterhouse usually does them in 5 seconds with a bandsaw but the operator is off sick Cue me wrestling greasy pigs with a hacksaw for 5 hours Quote Link to post Share on other sites
