pointer 543
If there's loads of them you don't need to bother thinking about baiting them out, they must have ample food sources so I'd just go for it. Quote Link to post
ARRAN 22
peanut butter mate the smooth one so they cant carry bits off thats what i always use Quote Link to post
optelic2 48
I personally hardly ever use bait but if i do as ARRAN has already suggested i use smooth peanut butter. Quote Link to post

ddurose 13
I agree with the others, cat food (tuna) or peanut butter, Mind you if there are that many of them it sounds like there's enough bait already. Quote Link to post
mickyatch 37
just thinking about luring them out into the open for easier shooting, Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
Chuck some grain out, it forces them to look around for more, giving you time to whack them, and its cheap enough to pre bait an area Quote Link to post
ghillies 209
whatever is the narmal food there, if its a cow shed leave a pile of the feed, as in a couple hree litres in a big heap.. if it's going to be on hoing i'd rig some night lights up on a couple three heaps, keep them on all night and keep the heaps topped up.(that way they'll get used to a free feed there under the loverly illumination..no lamp required, just a nice seat and a flask lol. Elmer_Fudd 28
I had a learning curve on this not long back... after many different things I found for me (my opinion) old fish pellets, from my match fishing days works well, ground up in a slop, put in a bowel which is heavy so they can't tip it. ( I used bottom of coke bottle screwed it to a heave bit of wood) ... has been a winner, but only bait them as they live over the top of the farmers house in his loft which joins the ridding school.... until they go shy blast away, within reason, live stock i guess don't like pellets!!! haha I have enjoyed shooting the rats, only get three to five at a time but the women lets me shoot the rabbits and there are loads of them so I'm happy waiting round for the long tails...
