I have Turkeys every year. Usually about 25-30 Norfolk Bronzes. As said not as easy as Chickens, but saying that what is? I rear mine on lots of grass, they love new grass. I live next to an orchard so come August there are plenty wind fall apples which also save me a lot of money. They also like soft fruits, Plums, Cherry's and Strawberry's are available. They love Nettles, which I move them to. Most of there diet is natural food, this is the biggest part of their husbandry and this involves moving them regularly.

The biggest problem I have is the buggers trying to roost, they constantly escape even with clipped wings they can clear a 1.2m electric fence and if your not on the ball Ol Renyard will be waiting  and the lessons learnt are not cheap. Another thing to be aware of is the two legged Turkey muncher, come the beginning of December I am on tender hooks. They gates are locked come night fall and the hounds are loose.

I trade most of mine for beef, pork, lamb or any other good quality meat I get offered and the remaining get sold to any one lucky enough to know me. And by that I mean my birds are the best available anywhere :toast: .
