its this what im struggling with this is a skylark :laugh:

 

Thought it was a fly..

You have a 70-300mm,. you are never going to get anything at that range, even with bigger telephoto lenses the knack is getting as close as you can..

Practice on bigger stuff, seagulls, flying swans, go to a local bird of prey centre and practice on flying owls..people think if they have a 300mm lense they can get great images at the other end of a football pitch, dosnt work that way, I have a full ghullie suit, a pop up hide, and my car, some of the best images I have were taking from my car, wildlife seems to tolerate a car, but not a person..get closer

This picture was shot at 1600 iso, the bird was in a darkish wooded area, shot at 200 iso and the image would have been almost black..There has been no noise reduction done to the image..there is slig

yes ive noticed that whilst in the car its the same when shooting. i did think about one of them dc-20 optical doublers but couldnt find much info on them and at £300 i would like to know more about them before i shell out
