Darrenm 0
Someone's already tried to repair the crown and put a large 45deg angle on so the straightening was a waste of time, so It looks like a new barrel is needed. Regardless of the straightening it looks like the bend was right where it joins the block, there was no difference at all. Does anyone know how much a .177 95k/80k barrel will cost fully fitted. Darrenm 0
Hi, if it's going to cost silly money I think I'll strip it down and sell on eBay and cut my losses, I will go to Sandwell field sports and see if they can give me a quote for the work and I will make my mind up once I've had a quote. My son will have to get used to taking a rested shot with my 97. Thanks guys Darren Quote Link to post

Darrenm 0
I've taken my hw95 to SFS and Tony found that the cylinder lugs are bent upwards, that the stock wasn't the original and the barrel was bent. For reference I bought my rifle off a guy called Adam from worcester and I found the rifle on Gunstar, I thought he was a decent bloke that claimed he new alot about pistols and air rifles. If he did he well and truely stitched me up and sold me a rifle in a dangerous condition (out of scope range adjustment) knowing fine well it was for my 12 yr old son! I have text him and had no reply; of which tells you he knows what he's done, I'm angry, embarised and very upset at what he's done. I 've now got to keep my cool and see what the next approach will be!!! :censored: If he was a half decent bloke he would have offered to help towards the repair costs, but I won't hold my breathe. I know now that the rifle is in good hands, and if any of you are buying off the net second hand please be careful, buy off a trusted source like SFS because if it seems to good to be true it probably is. Darrenm 0
Oooooh yes; I collected my HW95 today from Sandwell Field Sports, and I've been into work to zero it and it's perfect. I've now got groups of 20mm with the odd flyer at 40 yards, to say I'm pleased is an under statement. The scope is in the centre of it's adjustment, up, down, left and right and the breech has been re-crowned and it seems quieter? Tony has done an excellent job at a very good price, and the whole team at SFS really know their stuff Thanks guys/girls Thank for the feed back and advise given by all on this forum. Cheers NDarren Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Like I have said for many years now Tony Wall is one of the masters of spring rifle tuning and fixing. I rate him in the top 3 of all British rifle tuners that I know. Si. Edited March 20, 2012 by zini Quote Link to post
Darrenm 0
Hi mate, I will not use anywhere else if I can help it. I'm going to get my HW97 tuned now I've put a couple of tins of pellets through it, Tony said it would be better tuned and I trust him, it's quite twangy and it has quite alot of recoil so he's probably right. Still over the moon how my 95 has turned out. Darren Quote Link to post
