freelance 448
I have to agree, if you want good blood out of tried and tested workers, then the miles shouldn't be a problem. I have in the past done myself 11 hour journeys ( there and back ) to pick a pup up. At the then end of the day whats a few hours in the car, considering all being well that you may be getting ten years of good running and sport out of your new four legged friend Quote Link to post

djs7547 104
sad but you do get people like that a few years back i was looking to rehome a whippet x pup that just simply did not seem to get on with my other dogs. The new owner was well aware of my reasons for re-homing it, and was located in birmingham . However they asked asked "if i was interested in meeting half way or so, they would pay my asking price for dog, fuel costs and overnight expense in a travel lodge" so we met in manchester, 240 mile from me 120 from them it was my thoughts then that yes, this is defo someone that will give the dog a good home and agreed. I still keep in contact with them, and every so often they send me the odd pic. Obv its more difficult to do this if you have to rehome a whole litter , so if the new owner really wants the dog, then distance and the extra few quid (as long as its not someone really taking the piss) shouldnt make a difference.
