jimster68 123
just though id post a few pics of from a couple of trips north ive made this season ,ive had some great days sport and its always good to meet up with the guy who first got me the ferreting bug ,its early starts when im visiting this neck of the woods as its about a 60 mile drive ,but its always worth the drive just to be in good company . one of the places we ferreted was some type of old quarry, this was a bit of a nightmare due to the overgrown area and fallen trees but it was a job that had to be done. this is where i caught my first black rabbit. it was really worth the effort and matt had taken his dogs that made the whole job a lot easier. we then moved on to a few hedge rows, our bag for the day was 23 rabbits with a few hard digs due to the amount of young about, when we set off in the morning it was -7 on this day and it did not get above freezing all day. ive also added a few more pics of matts dogs these are sire/dam of my dog i have been bringing on this season there both great workers and good rabbiting dogs . in my 3 visits this season we managed to bag 70+ rabbits and its great to watch matts dogs picking up bolters. this is my pup out of the above dogs, that was gifted to me by matt. my young dog is coming on leaps and bounds he has started to retrieve well and is showing great steadiness in the field and has stared to pick up a few bolters CHEERS, JIM vbvbvbvb 3 Quote Link to post
