Guest Mass_G3nocide Posted February 14, 2012 Report Share Posted February 14, 2012 Is it true that mite have alot less chance surviving if you have plastic breeders.I'm having a bit of trouble lately with them just started getting birds and bought a couple from a market in colchester and now my breeder cages are showing signs of mite.I made the mistake of not spraying the birds but i have now leanrt.Any truth in this and if so where can i buy them from? I built my aviary 3 years ago and got infested with red mite, used that diatomaceous earth and never had a problem since, I also put garlic and cider vinegar in the birds bathing water, works for me. whatever you try, good luck mate, them red mites are barstewards. wild rover 548 Posted February 15, 2012 Report Share Posted February 15, 2012 Cheers lads, I have also used ivermectin drops on each bird, i got it made up at vets, it only cost £3 for enough for 50 birds, used an artist brush to dab one drop on each.
