Irish Lurcher 1,013
I hate the b*****ds, granted they are not as dangerous as barbed wire, but they are a curse. Was out last night with mate and the two dogs, plenty of bunnies about resulting in the dogs getting their lungs opened up. One field in particular had our attention as we flashed the lamp across it, set of bright orange eyes peered back towards us and the pull on the lead indicated to me that Digger had also copped the eyes. A quick call on the whistle and the red was on his was with purpose. Four turns of the red and both animals made for the ditch, I recalled a similar course few months back where the red made it to the bitch but Digger was able to extract him by the arse from the ditch and I could see the same scenario unfolding in front on my eyes. The red disappeared and the dog was on top of him, then there was an unmerciful howl from the ditch, terrible things went through my mind, broken leg, impalement, the poor dog had got entangled in a coil of wire that was connected to a power supply. On closer inspection we found the farmer had set out his eclectic fence around the field and never bothered to disconnect the remaining coil of wire, the dog was fried, to say I was zapped would be an understatement, the dog was untangled after awhile, and was howling for awhile after that to. I know the farmer in question and let’s just say that his tea won’t be stirred with a spoon when we go fishing this weekend. skycat 6,174
Prolonged shocking can damage internal organs if it is severe enough. Might be an idea to get the dog checked out.
