BEARINATOR 2,918
There's several factors why I don't walk it, firstly I never know where I'm going to lamp til I've left the house. I can lamp anything upto 150 miles away and thirdly I don't actually have time to walk it. I've walked most my ground that's with 30 miles radius buts that only about 3 maybe 4 places 3 or 4 places in a 30 mile radius , move up here mate Quote Link to post
bird 10,014
Lab it's the word Permission that stops most walking the land during the day but you can act dumb and say you are out with the family pet if the farmer isn't the bad type then people can always ask when they get caught. I got my first ever permission by getting caught off the farmers 2 collies as we had a ferret to ground and they wouldn't leave us but the old farmer was a good chap and gave us permission there and then he even got us a few other farms later that season and I'll admit to any one that I shed a tear when he passed away as he was a likeable fellow . His 2 collies were excellent watch dogs and had nipped a few people in their time, me included when I didn't notice them thats just it (nice farmers) as alot dont like people on there ground, and more so if you are wakling a lurcher type on the (lead). In fact when i had my pit bitch years ago, i used to walk her on the fields away from people and other dog walkers, just so i could chill with her let her off the lead . The farmers would say keep off there ground , but some would ask about the dog, and were ok and it ended there . But feck me if i walked my lurchers same places or differnt places, the farmers were i (dont) want to see that dog or dogs on here again or will call the cops. So unless you got permission, and alot havent it is very easy to get a dog hurt. And running any dog in the dark at 35mph its always a risk on any ground.!! Quote Link to post
