" Madhunter ", as it would now seem he's known out here, was kicked out of and temporarily Banned from Chat, yesterday evening. This is becoming a regular, Friday night occurrance. Friday night, it seems, is 'Buckie Night' and along with the ingestion of large ammounts of Buckie we get talk of illegal activities, gross sectarian political incitement and any other manner of general f*cking about, to the displeasure or the majority of other chatters in the room, as evidenced by the private messages of complaint I recieve.

 

Two things of note happened last night, aside from the usual:

 

1) " Madhunter " ~ under the handle he prefers to use in Chat, was given a very clear and public altermatom. It was to the effect that; Any more of the sectarian politics shit and an instantanious and life long Ban would be instigated. Period. It was further pointed out, privately, that with his background and mine, probably niether of us gives a particular shit about what he's saying. But the vast majority of others certainly do. It's not big and it's not clever and there'll be no more of it on my shift.

 

I've actually had years of experiance Moderating fora and Chats. I think most would agree I do so with impartiallity and discretion.

 

2) The Kicking and subsequent Banning of " Madhunter " took place while Ian B himself, owner of this entire site, was comfortably in the room and activly chatting. Ian never for a moment questioned my actions. No more than I thought to hesitate in taking such action in front of him. It's my job and what Ian B put me there to do.

 

" Madhunter " has been marked for a short period Ban and that Ban will be lifted once that punative period has elapsed. Any infringement of '1', above and there will be not a word of further warning. Nor will there be any more explanations issued here. That's been done.

 

For the record; The Chat Room, as now stands, has facilities to Whisper to others ~ I cannot and would not wish to read any such Whispers. Chatters may also open their own, private sub rooms and lock even me out. Anyone uncertain of how to do that need only ask myself or any other Moderator present how it's done. I have also allocated a publicly accessable private sub room, " The Snug " which I never visit. It, there by, being an effectively un moderated Chat area for the use of those who choose to avail themselves. I can't be in two places at once and my remit is to watch the " Lobby " or main room .....
