Irish Lurcher 1,013
Lads thanks for the replies, it did sound a wee bit strange to me, but you know the saying, a friend in need. Anyway we hit the farm at 23:30 last night and low and behold Charlie was running among the cattle in the top field. Little fooker was very reluctant to leave the herd, bear in mind that the next field was alive with lambs, yet he was happy to scatter the cattle in all directions, strange behaviour. At last I had a clear shot at him, 150 yards with big white chest sticking out like a light house, how could I miss. Quote Link to post

macker 5
can remember as a young lad with no dogs and not introduced to hunting yet. cutting across a couple of fields to look for a better spot to fish.when my mate said to me there was afox as we watched we could see it beside a cow who had just had a calf . we walked right up to the fox and let a scream thinking it was eating the calf. only to see the vixen run off with some of the afterbirth.can still remember its earth altough it was twenty years gone by. i can still remember it well it was like an old wall half covered in muck. what an oppertunist our fox is . still love to see them when they are doing their own thing. all the best macker Quote Link to post
cymruguy69 5
I was out with the beagle hounds back in March and one of the larger cows on the farm we were leaving from had jus had a calve and all the afterbirth was all over the floor the hounds tried eating the lot up. Disgusting if you ask me but if they fed on it then surely a charlie would. Quote Link to post
