johnny boy68 11,726
In modern times bread and milk have no place in ferret keeping, every pet shop these days supply ferret biscuits and most local butchers will supply you with a bag of off cuts for a few pound. Its cheap enough these days to go to Tesco and buy 2 chickens for a couple of pound which will feed a couple of ferts for ages, its the first rule in keeping any animals "if you can't feed them right, then you shouldn't have them!" 2 Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,217
Intrested to read that some of the ardent defenders of the the no locator thread saying in the old days we never used this or that but use the same line in the milk @ bread thread . Bread and milk was use across the country along with no locators and we all now know that slops have no place in modern ferret keeping along with some other out of date practices in the ownership @ working of the modern ferret. It stand to reason if cant fed proper food to your ferret then maybe you should not keep them. And the same could be said for if you cant afford a locator then maybe you shoukd not work them. ATB Cookie Still think it's bollocks When i was 14, i could afford (manage by hook and crook) to keep all my animals well fed and cared for, but i still didnt have £200 in my pocket Before you get your knickers in a twist, i have used a locator for a long time and wouldnt go out without one, but i dont think you can compare feeding a ferret a terrible and unhealthy diet, with not using the disco carrot. 1 Quote Link to post
