Did you see it get spooked, cos chances are the others might have done it anyway.....horrible things.

Try putting it back in with the others once properly healed and see if it happens again?

If possible when you do put it back in move them all together somewhere new, so they have something else to think about.

i put some in with some chickens once while i fixed their pen, the chickens ate them :icon_eek:

@moll i think it was the shed door banging that done it.

i will put back in an see what happens its a smallish male so if they do the wife will eat it :D

 

they are japanese quails greedy,messy but strangley fun to watch an listen to :blink:

the most prolific breeding bird in the world, i kept them in 3 tier hutch type thing in the end :laugh:
