Male vs. Female??

Recommended Posts

What's everyone's opinion on male terriers vs females.... As in how do they work, how are they in the house and with other dogs. I know a lot has to do with individual dogs but im sure the sex of the dog has something to do with it. I have my 2 male patterdales and love em... Great in the house, great with people and kids and work their asses off in the field! My female pit bull is an awesome dog but can be a huge !#@+@ with other strange dogs, my male pit bull is great with everything and anyone unless it's got fur, besides dogs he's great with dogs. But my buddy has 2 female pats and they don't get along with each other and not so good with other dogs, when we introduced one to a caged coon she grabbed a hold of one of my dogs! Recently she's gotten ahold of my dog the las three times he's stuck his head in a hole! Shouldnt she want to work more then fight with other dogs? Been wanting to add a little female to my pack but not if they act like this! Any opinions? Thanks.

What I WAS saying was in the topic of patts... Could there be a reason why a friends female keeps attacking my male? She's kinda nasty with other dogs in general. Is this a female thing? He owns 2 females and they don't get along with each other either! My point is shouldnt a proper working terrier be more interested in working rather then fighting other dogs. Btw what I was saying about my male pit bull is he is great with.... Other dogs, people and children... Just aggressive towards other animals... Which isn't the problem.

What part doesn't make sense? I don't read anywhere where I said 1 minute they get along and the next minute they don't

I think he was referring to "bedsides dogs he's great with dogs"

If the bitch is boning dogs and bitches regularly then she's just a snarly bstard off a bitch and would be safer off worked alone IMO.

Probably better for me and my dogs to stop hunting with this guy!

Or just dont put any of your dogs on the ground while that one is being hunted...

That being said I can remember a particular nasty bitch my Dad owned years ago, I witnessed her come off the quarry and out of the ground only to jump on another bitch that was tied back...She ended up being culled for that very undesirable trait...

If you have two bitches in your yard that don't get along they should be kept apart at all times. Most dogs may In the odd occasion take a snap at one and other over a bone or something silly and forget about it. If you have two bitches that don't get along you will never be able to turn your back on them, EVER.
