ive bred white to white for years mate,i get both rough and smooth in the litter,my dogs go back to gouldys stormer then ive crossed in what i thought was the best white digging dogs ive dug to ,then line bred and inter bred with them, the only out side blood ive used was bull blood a few years a go and i lost my bitch out off that last year,i try to keep enough between me and my mates so we dont lose what we have got then sell the odd one to digging lads, if i breed a litter i always keep two back or if we have two litters on the go i will keep one out of each then sort them out at a later date the same as my mates do ,we always have pups out of each others litters as the blood is about the same, this way we dont lose what we have plus you never know if you will be bring the dog home again the night,i lost two young un last year which left me with all old dogs one was 16 months old the other just coming up 3 years,so i just put it down to one of them things ,we all get a bit of bad luck some times.

Sounds like good policy mate! I know what you mean about the dangers of losing good blood,a mate off here has found himself in that situation due to unforeseen problems and im in danger of being up the creek too if my old bitch does'nt produce me some good pups this summer. Good luck with yours

i class my terriers as russells mate,i would not class a white terrier bred out of two coloured terriers a russell ,to get white out of two coloured terriers they both have to have the white gene in and it dont have to be russell blood it could be white bull blood, just cus its white doent always make it a russell,who knows what our for father put in there terriers,rev jon russell was said to put any thing in his dogs that was white and he liked.no one will ever know for sure.
