GNASH I DIDNT KNOW FREEMAN HAD BEEN BEATEN ?????

Record of 19-7-1

not in britain ? werent he meant to be british champ must admit i dont know a great deal about the sport just thought freeman was at the top of his game ??

Hes retired, did a 3/4 years ago, he fought three times in the UFC at the height of his career, beat Mir in London when he was young(Mir), then got knocked out by Arlovski before a draw with Vernon White, Freeman was good in the UK at the time but not world class......

Not heard that one mate, read his autobiography too but never heard that. At the time he was the only Brit fighting around the world but the sport is rapidly changing, we now have well known Brits doing well such as Bisping, Hardy etc

You think Jon jones could mate Anderson silva pound for pound?

At the moment no. JJ is still learning his trade, he hasnt been tested fully imo. Give it a year or two of regular defending and i think he would eat AS for breakfast.

JJ could be the biggest thing ever in mma. His striking and unorthodox style is amazing, his wrestling and ground game is amazing, he really is the full package. It wasnt the shogun of old that he fought, rampage didnt really test his chin, neither did lyoto really.

Ithink this is the superfight that people want now. GSP is a leg-end but a small leg-end. AS can go from middle to LHW easily, GSP cant make that step up .

i agree jj would beat silva just 2 gud and still only learning

I saw that Freeman fight with Frank MIR, very emmotional at the end of the fight was Freeman, his father was very ill and was watching the fight . It only goes to show, evn the hard b*****ds have a heart when it comes to family.

Ian didnt know at the time but his dad had already died apparently. It was decided that no-one should tell Ian, i had a genuine tear in my eye when i found out, especially when ian was interviewed at the end and he was saying how he loved his dad, very, very moving.

Quite right Trappa, you almost forgot about the fight he'd just had, very emmotional inded. He beat MIR fair and square, no split decisions or points to worry about as I recall it, only some smelling salts. As has already been said, he was a very good fighter, but not world class. I think thats a fair evaluation of the man as a fighter, but as for his obvious love for his Dad, in my eyes, he was a world champion
