Ratreeper 441
LOL how can people not get it? I barely even think of cats as breeds, they just come in different colours for the most part. Do you think if cats were selectively bred for being useful like dogs they might be good at something by now? We could have guard cats, go coursing with them etc? Go herding sheep with a cat? Ratreeper 441
actually people do go coursing with cheetah's, I wonder why humans never bothered domesticating cheetahs for hunting for the tribes
mackem 29,724
go coursing with them etc? Buy,beg, borrow or steal a book called "A sporting chance" by a guy called Dan Mannix,a rivetting read,I have had my copy since childhood,it was always tucked away under my pillow and led to me trying to boomerang ducks with my bunk-bed arm off the local ponds, its a compendium of unusual hunting methods including hunting feathered quarry with a caracal or serval(cant remember which as the book is in storage). http://www.amazon.com/Sporting-Chance-Unusual-Methods-Hunting/dp/B00005WXSW

There is a DVD called 'magnum falconry' (I hope that's the right one anyway) and at the end they course deer and hare with a cheetah and I think there was a bit with what could be a serval too. Apparently owning a cheetah for hunting goes back thousands of years with kings, they keep them hooded so they stay calm and take it off before they slip them. Might be some clips on youtube but I did a quick search and didn't see one...

johnny boy68 11,726
Well if you used a cheetah then you'd be exempt from the ban as dosen't it say "hunting with dogs?"
keeper 51 78
there should only be two types of cats live ones and dead ones imo the second type are the best
johnny boy68 11,726
Cats are just users !!
John Keswick 119
Not a cat fan myself, but i do enjoy watching cheetas at it, for some strange reason i dont consider cheetas to be cats. That you tube video is facinating, that truely is the sport of kings
