Well i have a 8 week old pup that has a lot of dry skin (dandruff).I am wanting to know what would be the best to clear this up and bring his coat out for the older mutts i give them cod liver oil.Would this be suitable to give to the pup bearing in mind he is only 8 weeks?

Is the pup indoors?

Sometimes pups not used to central heating will get dry skin.

TBH though if you are feeding a well balanced diet and it is not extreme or causing him any problems (like itching) i would not worry, all part of the pups development.

If it is causing itching he may have walking dandruff.

He is indoors for now untill he is jabbed up then he will be out in the pen.Its not iritating him in anyway. Its just like the dandruff we would get in our hair but not in anyway bothering him.He is being feed on dry mixer with rabbit, chicken or mince.I was going to go with the barf diet but he couldn't hold down raw meat? He is upto date on his worming so it won't be down to worms as he is a healthy pup and at the moment full of himself. So there is nothing to worry about?

Anyone have any idea about him not holding down raw meats?

Get a magnifying glass if you think it could be walking dandruff....you can actually see it moving.

If the pup was not reared on raw it might just be too much at once to change it...plus it will need to be finely minced as some pups will vomit slightly bigger grisly bits.

Mix it in with what the pup gets now, just a little at first then gradually increase it

I feed him on mince for the first time and he brought it straight back up so left it at that.I will graduly introduce it to his meals and see how he gets on.I have the vet's tomorrow so i will have him checked over and will let you know how i get on.

Thanks alot moll.
