NEWKID 29,095
Got out last night for a walk around a new bit of permission which is a big free range chicken farm, we were taken around by the farm manager who was a top bloke. It was a good little walk and the first set of fieds around the hen houses held a lot of rabbits, it wasn't great conditions no wind at all, but we managed 6 out of the first 4 fields. We walked up up onto some arable land which he told us was shot over by a couple of lads on quads. You could tell nothing like the first bit as soon as the lamp went on the rabbits were gone. We managed another 1 and that was it for the night. It was a good little walk and the famer has invited us onto the main farm now (which is around 600 acres), after seeing the dogs run. There's still a bit of work to do with the my pup especialy on the retrieve but she's doing well other wise. The farmer realy enjoyed seeing the dogs work and left his rifle in the truck, he said it's far better watching a dog run them than blasting away. cheers kev 1 Quote Link to post

Maximus Ferret 2,065
Well done Kev, rabbits infect the ground with the same strains of coccidiosis that kills young chickens. Quote Link to post
