bigoy19706 276 Posted November 19, 2011 Report Share Posted November 19, 2011 hi all i have a collie dear saluke grey dog about 4 years old he was worked up to 2 years but was not the best on big thing so i,v had him as a pet sins then because he was my 1st dog i have been taking him to park 2 time a week to keep him happy but 2 night ago i had him out lamping he had 5 runs (did not get out) and his feet was red row and the groud was wet grass do you thing its because he has not had the road work and he feet are soft is there any thing i can do to get hes feet harder he was always abit bad with his feet but never like this Quote Link to post

How about torn muscles, damaged ligaments and tendons, strained heart and lungs.....oh and let's not forget the feet. By your own admission the dog only goes to the park twice a week: would you seriously expect a footballer to go and play a good match without injuring himself if he trotted round the block twice a week to get fit????????? Think about it! If you are going to work the dog, then for the dog's sake get if fit first, which means putting the work in, road walking the dog, then trotting it, then building up its strength with short gallops, and all this before putting it on the tail of some game.
