The Duncan 802
Hi folks, as title suggests, I am looking to get my almost brand new hummer fitted with a new barrel to replace the (US illegal) 14" one with a standard length, unscrewcut barrel. Does anyone know what I would have to pay for this. At Donaldsons in Fenny Stratford, Bucks reckoned about £600! But they are always ridiculously pricy in my experience. Any ideas or recommendations guys? Cheers Duncan. Quote Link to post

zx10mike 137
what makes you want a longer barrel? you will only gain a few fps and that is a great standard barrel. Quote Link to post
The Duncan 802
what makes you want a longer barrel? you will only gain a few fps and that is a great standard barrel. I'm moving to Florida. In the states owning a rifle with a barrel of less than 16" will earn you a 10 year stretch and revocation of green card. Quote Link to post
The Duncan 802
Get a CZ mate Nothing against CZ - still got a cz rimmie, but I prefer the refinement of Weihrauch. Quote Link to post

JonathanKent 16
Just a thought but why not just PX it against a new one? A good second hand weihrauch on Guntrader is making around the £500 - £600 mark (I would say that I think £600 is a bit ambitious!) and a brand new one is between £600 and £700. So say you sell yours for £550 (as its almost brand new) and buy a new one for £650 you get what you want for £100 and I dont think you will get yours it re-barreled for £100. Plus then you have a brand new unadulterated rifle with the warranty that goes with it. Hope that helps ATB Jonno Quote Link to post
The Duncan 802
Sounds good to me Jonno... For sale: 1 almost unused HW60 hmr ...£500... Then buy one out there for less than they cost here Quote Link to post
JonathanKent 16
One small note of warning. I have a friend in the states, though California not Florida, and they are not allowed silencers at all, which is rubbish and pretty much defeats the point of having a rimfire in the first place! The Duncan 802
The ban on mods is federal - no state is exempt. But with an hmr rounds, there is still quite a crack as the bullet hits mach 2.5 so I'm not too dissappointed. PCP air rifles are another point altogether. V loud without a mod, but only 12 fpe with my UK spec HW100! Quote Link to post
jamie g 17
hi mate i know a smith local to me who could rebarrel that for you. lucky enough he has a big batch of custom lother walther 17 barrels that are just the right size for that action you have, fitted, bead blasted, screw cut, invisable thread cap,and proofed is around the £300 mark plus vat. a big saving on what you have been qouted !!! pm me for details. he hasnt long rebarreled a rifle for me in 17 fireball. i all ready had the barrel though otherwise i would have had one of his. trouble is the barrel profiles he got suites annie actions, hw action [ as you have] and sako vixen action.
