Not quite to plan, but a nice stroll.

Finished work today, and decided to take the dog out and check out a bit that i am planning to ferret with johnnyboy68 on Sunday, and then possibly go and see if i could find something to bolt in a nice little copse on the hill above it.

 

It was bloody warm, stupidly warm for October (anyone else getting fed up with this weather?).

 

Anyway, had a good stroll, and checkout out the piece for Sunday, got some good marks and there was a fair bit of scent about, but i left it be for now, then went up to the copse via a piece of game cover that we pushed a decent sized dog fox out of the other day (alas, no running dogs in attendance, only spaniels), hoping he might be back up there, but no luck.

 

Got into the copse and could see that i had massivly underestmated the cover, and the dog spent a good hour pushing the bunnies that were there around and around in circles, until they all (sods law) dropped into a big 40 warren set under the bramble pile from hell. So i left them a lone, and will return with the slasher at some point soon and clear a way into it.

 

On the way out of the copse, the mutt pegged a hen bird who wasn't quite quick enough off the mark in her take off, not ideal, given the location, but nice to see (and luckily there were no witnesses).

 

Nice walk, but too warm, too much cover. Looking forward to Sunday though!

Aye mate, it's not bad, you can see my house in the second pic, it's the white dot in the distance, between the telegraph poles. I'm lucky enough to have permission on everything you can see in the pic up to there and just beyond.

 

Hopefully rake will see and stick it up

 

There are plenty of them around, and to be fair it's a pain in the ass, they distract the dog and i could do without the bollocking

My Roxy caught a woody the other day, was not sure about it so it got flung, first bit feather though, good practice

Aye mate, always nice when the dog catches something different. Finn has had quite a few pheasants, which at times can be a bit embaressing

 

As for the pics, it's an old camera of my old mans, and i'm not sure how long it's gonna last in my grubby pockets, it's already starting to die, so you won't have t endure them for long

pics mean nothing at times as if your a hunting man and being at the game a good read at times is enough .spent thousands of hunting fishing days without a silly camera , and some are the most memorable, a visaul world at times is for those that havent been at it serous enough to put there self in another mans boots and imagine how he thinks etc hence alot are not good poachers hunters dog men ,but pics are nice
