in summer time baz when you fly fish you try and immate or copy what flies are about on the water i.e. daddy long legs or midges so if theres midges about use avery little black fly or somtimes in certain areas and times of year you get alot of moths about ...so you use a fly what looks like moth muddlers they are called ...but at this time of year there isnt any flies about so you use lures brightly coulored flies theres loads of different names of lures ...also if you dont no what a fly is called when you see one on the water just catch one and look in your fly box and try and get one simular .....but if your going to astocky lake with rainbows nearly any fly catches them. its the dry fly fishing on rivers thats the real challange .....if you are ever down my way baz i will take you to a real spot on a river that holds some very large brownies .......any more info baz just ask mate ...regaurding th rod ask at a fishing shop theres that many he will advise you and tell you what lines to use .....all the best...

best way to practice baz is on a field at fisrt tie a fly on your leader and snip the hook of so it dosent catch the grass ..its not about how far you can get it its about prsentation landing the fly as gently as possible.the distance comes later .....its a good crack tho and they put a real fight up ....if you get really in to it baz i will have one or your pups if you havent got time... :D:laugh:

if you get fed up baz and nothing is biteing find an orange fly in you box and cut it so its shaped like a little orange ball ... ;) it does the trick ..
