secretagentmole 1,701 Posted April 23, 2012 Report Share Posted April 23, 2012 Forget the shrouded barrel, they still sell a damned silencer with it here. Shrouded barrels do not work as well as a silencer, which is why my Super 10 bull barrel carbine sports an A&M Twink 2. Shrouded barrel reduces the noise, but not as much as a silencer does. They were developed for markets like some American states which have outlawed separate silencers. As the silencer is built into the barrel it gets round that law, but it is not as good. I have heard an FSB and a silenced carbine, the silenced carbine is quieter, with the silencer on the FSB is as noisy as the silenced carbine. Basically it is trading on the looks of the beast rather than the effectiveness! Quote Link to post
