Ossie 11
my brothers terrier cross is a f****r for farting, he walks into the room, lays down, then suddenly looks all offended, gets up, and leaves. then you smell it! if it's bad for you, just think how it must smell to the poor dog, with that extra sensitive nose! Guest Ditch_Shitter
one of my bitches is farting alot ~ she gets fed the same as my others but she is much faster and gulps and never chews. Allright. All the 'Hardy Har Harr' aside for a minute ..... Ye need to look at the reason why she's bolting it. Are we talking about a Greyhound or Greyhound X here? Only Grey's are buggers for wolfing their food down. So it may be her nature. It may be circumstantial / enviromental. Either way, two things to try: 1. Feed her away from any other Dogs. Put her in a seperate room to eat her grub, completely away from the others. That'll give her some sense of security. I do this with my one and she'll actually take a morsal away with her, within that empty room, and devour it more sensibly. She knows the rest will be there, no matter what. 2. Bit more work involved, maybe, but it could save ye Dog from far worse than just foul smells; Mince or otherwise break up the main (flesh, I'd hope?) constituant of her meal and then serve it in some approximation of a broth or gravy. In short, make her have to drink liquid feed to get to the bigger bits. That too should force her to slow down a bit. It doesn't matter that her farts stink ~ I don't s'pose You blow the scent of new mown hay either? What matters is that she's forming wind. And that points to the very hoovering ye talk of. And hoovering feed isn't good for a Dog. Of course, my lot couldn't hoover their meals if they wanted to. It's damn hard to bolt down f*cking great chunks of flesh coated bone. They have to chew it up first. Natures answer to farts, and far worse Quote Link to post
