Maybe that's what the 'proper' name is for an ibizan hound then? :D

hi,the name is right, the padengo canario is much smaller than a ibizan hound or podenco ibicenco as its known, only know this because my sister lives out there,i stayed for a few weeks and saw a few like midnight walker and was impressed.wonder what they would be like crossed wth bedlington.? :thumbs-up: just found website for anyone intrested.www.kelb-tal-fenek.com/medbreeds

All the rocky mediterranean islands, the Canarys and mainland Spain have a "podenco". Several sizes excist according to what people want them for. Tough dogs for day/night rabbits mostly or flushing bigger game for guns. Traditional use is in packs.

They use their nose and give loud. IMO not good for lamping. Check out older posts by me for a link to pictures from Ibiza.
