how true?

after seeing a few pics on another thread, it took me back when i used to go visit some family up in Scotland in the school holidays, what sticks in my mind is my uncle and his brother in law were always talking about fishing and the size of them! but i can also remember him saying about poaching salmon which in my later years i gathered he poached anyway,

but thing what got me he said he used some kind of dynomite dropped from a boat to stun the fish first then mopped them up later,

i've not seen him in a good few years now, but i'd like to know if anyone has heard of this method :thumbs:

i am going back 30 yrs plus :thumbs:

Ive had both salmon and trout using gaff,net,fork,even seen a generator been used,but never dynomite,probably could not get me hands on any or would have tryed it,lol.

yes i can gather that mate, but im thinking it maybe some kind of stun effigy :hmm: the dynamite was just his saying, so i'm a bit puzzled :thumbs:

Was watching something about loch ness recently,it was a film of some sort.Anyway there were guys researching stories about the loch ness monster and they were in conflict with local fishermen who were using some type of explosive to fish at nite,it was only a film but there must be somebody that uses such a method,i would def say its illegal,lol.

Learnt how to make carbide bombs for fishing when I lived in the Philippines,maybe divers recall in shallow pools or something similar?Lots of better,quieter,more discrete ways to get anadromous fish from a river :blink:
