The government can't be trusted with the right to torture or kill anyone imo too corrupt. also I can't see torture achieving that much,i'm sure they could get a confession out of anybody if they wanted so it means nothing anyway. unlacedgecko 1,467
It is very fashionable to condem the country and the past amongst the intellectual elite in the UK. Just look at the media storm there was over the 300th anniversary of the abolition of slavery. It was the UK that led the world in banning the ownership of humans, and to watch the grovelling you would think that we invented it! What ex soldier lab?

I only saw a clip of it on the news today and thought the bald headed guy doing the interview was one of the soldiers involved......

foxfan 479
I heard an ex squaddie talking on the radio today and he said there was zero advice/direction from their 'superiors' regarding interogation of suspects. That still doesnt excuse what happened. Torture is NEVER ever justified.
Malt 379
I don't know where this mentality has come from. It's not just things like this, it's wormed it's way into every facet of life here in the UK. As a country we like nothing more than ripping ourselves to shreds, be it with out sports people, public figures or anything else.

Torture is NEVER ever justified. tbf mate they can be a bit loose with the term torture, for example stress positions are now torture. put your hands up. put your hands on your head. get on your knees. on your belt buckle, even. all technically stress positions and stress positions = torture, apparently.
